I spun this up from one of my farmers market rovings and then plied it back on some blue nylon thread. I’m excited about the results of it. Also, I’ve been getting some sage advice from Etsy seller KnittyDirtyGirl (see link on side bar.) I am going to do the other half and hope to get a much tighter ply.

Most all of these will go for sale on Etsy. I’m thinking of using a couple of them on eBay. The last picture is a variety of hand made spindles. I will have a detailed feature of those soon.

I’m wondering if this makes anyone think of thunderstorms. It kind of feels that way to me, but I know what I am looking for.
Swatches!

I’ve been working on a lot of new ideas and how to get them underway. I have some different fibers dyed and ready to be carded. Hopefully I can get some nice blends.
I have my final dye lot of the sock yarn that I purchased finished. Here is a preview:

and the required close up shot:

I dont have a name for this yet so it may be a second before its listed. I know its completely too bright for winter but I was really wanting to work on this color combo. I thought I would get more orange where the colors mixed but the red was too strong.
Colors: Cushings Lemon Acid Dye and Jacquards Scarlet Acid Dye
Yards: approx 210

Something like Purple Skies, Stormy Skies or some such. Its very odd, I get a bit truer color taking the pictures of sock yarn in doors than out. Believe it or not, this is the same yarn that was pictured below. Only difference is the yarn was re-skeined to mix the colors. Different light of course. I was planning to post this tonight, I’m just not sure right now…….

I dyed this a few weeks ago. However, I am having the same problem I had with the previous sock yarn. The colors completely wash out when taking pictures in natural sunlight. This is dark grey, violet, and purple. Let me know what you think:

This is approximately 210 yards of sport weight yarn. 100% Australian Merino Wool.
