I moved the blog for now to http://froggyfibers.blogspot.com. Come visit me there!
In the meantime, I am searching for options to utilize this space: mainly looking into creating a shopping cart site for additional sales.

Comments should now be enabled on my blog!
Believe it or not, I have had this blog up for a year and it never occurred to me that there was anything I could do to allow comments. Now I will have extra work to make sure I don’t get unnecessary stuff.
YAY for comments!

So, today was my birthday. I didnt mention it to anyone on Etsy. Don’t think it was important. I enjoyed having the day off and spending time with my family though. That was nice. Now its time for bed. Night-Night!
PS- I listed the Faded Forestry Corriedale roving pictured below today. Also view it on my Etsy Mini on the lower right hand column.

We had are first farmers market today. Things didn’t turn out as expected and the weather was a bit colder that I would have liked. However, lots of people seemed interested in the art that is spinning. I count that as a victory any day. As a result, I also have plenty of new roving to list on Etsy in the coming days as well as hand-painted, hand-crafted spindles.
As a bonus, I got to meet my first fellow Etsy seller. Felicia of Fluffyflowers was there and it was great to meet her. She has the cutest things at http://FluffyFlowers.etsy.com.
Check back in the next few days as I upload pictures of the rovings and do a short feature on the new spindles that I will be adding to the store.

I can’t believe its been a month. I am still around but I havent updated anything on the shop yet. (I have relisted the spinning kit but nothing new.) A Blog is not very useful if it is not used.
I am VERY excited about Etsy’s verison 2 that is just around the corner. I have been spinning, but for some reason I am only netting small amounts of yardage.
Also, I have pictures of a sample I did for someone below. I bought the sock yarn special for the project, but when I sent the samples the customer never responded. I just ended up looking on their profile later to see that they had already purchased a custom product based on the same idea. I wish customers would communicate. Luckily it was sock yarn, so it is resaleable. Unfortunately, I dont want to dye it so I may just sell the whole lump sum to someone. Reduced a litte of course. It would be a 1 pound cone of sock yarn (approx 1600 yds) missing about 12 yards. 100% merino, feltable. I will post pictures if I decide to sell it. It is basically the undyed equal to the sock yarns currently in my store.

So I had four goals for the month of July. If I had to rate myself on meeting them, I would get about a 60%. Not because I completed 60% of my goals (probably closer to 30%) but because it put me in a more productive mood.
Things that I am expecting for the coming month….
Post some pictures of the sock yarn I dyed, purples and grey…. it came out very nice.
More spinning (this will probably be standard for a while)
possibly crocheting a scarf or two… (I’m half done with one that is a going away gift)
organizing my grand reopening (very dependent on the amount of items I can create. Im aiming for 30-45)
more color experimentation (I want to do a red/yellow sock yarn)
working on the list (its more of a mental list)
Carding batts
working on purchasing supplies
Well, these are just a few basics that I want to focus on anyway.
As always, more to come……

I was stalling on writing this because I was not sure that I wanted to. A group of people starting posting on Etsy’s forums about monthly goals. I hadn’t really thought twice about it because Etsy is a very casual thing for me right now. So, I thought I would post my July goals. I can only hope for more success than I had at my June goals.
1. Spin more
2. Experiment with color in Dyeing and Spinning (Addendum: Realize that every dye job wont be a success. Accept it and move on!)
3. Follow through on the three items that I stated I would provide to other Etsy people. (even though both parties stated that there was no time limit, its just nice to have it done.)
4. Learn to knit.
Thats all I really want to acheive right now, I can worry about listing and selling towards the end of the month. Plus, I am working on a redesign of my banner, avatar, prices and overall feel of my store. So that will take some time too.
